The Great Year

On Mischievous Peeps Tom Hickey said on August 11, 2014 that:
Don regarded this intellectual endeavour to understand as consistent with Baba having said that humanity is passing from the age of intellect to the age of intuition, so he would satisfy the intellect by revealing in works like God Speaks what had previously been reserved as closet teaching for close disciples and was only revealed to the public symbolically. So for Don working with Baba’s special words, especially in God Speaks, satisfies the intellectual desire to know the whole in terms of a conceptual model, while also ushering in the age of intuition through developing the intuitive faculty, which Baba said would be his gift to humanity in this advent.
This resonated with my current study of The Great Year where I'd set up a spreadsheet and was looking at various starting dates. If the starting point is taken to be 1 AD (or thereabouts) then certain events line up quite well. For example, the Roman Empire cleaved into East and West in 364 AD, corresponding to the Gemini phase of the Age of Pisces while Charlemagne's rule from 768 AD to 814 AD aligns neatly with the Leo phase. The Crusades correspond almost exactly to the Libra phase (Libra is often more warlike than Aries). The voyages of discovery (Columbus 1492 and all that) and the Renaissance correspond to the Sagittarius phase. The Scientific Revolution corresponds to the Capricorn phase while the Age of Inventions (telegraph, telephone, harnessing of electricity, radio, television, Internet etc.) corresponds to the Aquarius phase from 1801 until 1981. Meher Baba was born right in the middle of this phase but, as he said, his gift to humanity would be to usher in the age of intuition corresponding to the Pisces phase

It would seem that there will be some sort of dissolution, a washing away of the old, before the Age of Aquarius begins. There are predictions that the current pope will be the last and Christianity, especially Catholicism, is certainly undergoing a transformation as disenchantment with its hierarchies rises to record levels. I think that this disenchantment with all of the organised religions will grow during this Piscean phase of the Age of Pisces and that the world will be ready for Meher Baba's message as the Age of Aquarius dawns.

It is common that the message of the Avatar does not find a widespread audience for quite some years after his departure. Christianity is a case in point but Buddhism only spread widely in Asia thanks to Ashoka:
In about 260 BCE, Ashoka waged a bitterly destructive war against the state of Kalinga (modern Odisha). He conquered Kalinga, which none of his ancestors had done. He embraced Buddhism after witnessing the mass deaths of the Kalinga War, which he himself had waged out of a desire for conquest. "Ashoka reflected on the war in Kalinga, which reportedly had resulted in more than 100,000 deaths and 150,000 deportations, ending at around 200,000 deaths." Ashoka converted gradually to Buddhism beginning about 263 BCE. He was later dedicated to the propagation of Buddhism across Asia, and established monuments marking several significant sites in the life of Gautama Buddha. "Ashoka regarded Buddhism as a doctrine that could serve as a cultural foundation for political unity." Wikipedia
Ashoka lived a long time after Siddharta Gautama (born c. 563 BCE or c. 480 BCE) and likewise with Christianity, it was only with the conversion of the Emperor Constantine, that the religion gained widespread acceptance:
Scholars debate whether Constantine adopted his mother St. Helena's Christianity in his youth, or whether he adopted it gradually over the course of his life. Constantine possibly retained the title of pontifex maximus, a title emperors bore as heads of the ancient Roman religion priesthood until Gratian (r.375–383) renounced the title. According to Christian writers, Constantine was over 40 when he finally declared himself a Christian, writing to Christians to make clear that he believed he owed his successes to the protection of the Christian High God alone. Throughout his rule, Constantine supported the Church financially, built basilicas, granted privileges to clergy (e.g. exemption from certain taxes), promoted Christians to high office, and returned property confiscated during the Diocletianic persecution. His most famous building projects include the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and Old Saint Peter's Basilica. Wikipedia.
According to Baba, the five perfect masters are quiescent for one hundred years after the dropping the Avatar's body and only become active again after this time. In Baba's case, this would be 2070 onwards. It may be that during the approximate period from 2070 to 2160 and through the instigation of the perfect masters of the time, Baba's message will spread and find a welcome audience as the new age dawns.
