2023 in Jakarta

Figure 1 shows the chart drawn up for the start of 2023 in Jakarta.

Figure 1

With Libra rising, the ruling planet is Venus in Capricorn in the 4th house, closely conjunct Pluto with Mercury nearby. It suggests to me some important developments in the relocation of the capital to Kalimantan.

There is a sharp quincunx between the Sun at the base of the chart and Mars on the cusp of the ninth house. Chiron mediates the aspect by square and sextile on the Descendant. I don't want to spend too much time analysing this chart because I don't know how influential the chart is.

It's probably better to refer to the Independence Chart of which I've written about in posts titled Indonesia's Independence Chart (December 7th 2016) and A Deeper Look at Indonesia's Independence Chart (April 6th 2018). Charts drawn up for the solstices and equinoxes or the start of the year will be important in as much as they affect the Independence chart.

Minute by Minute

Figure 1

Figure 1 shows the external monitor connected to my laptop with a real time display of the planetary positions via Astrolog. As I work at my computer, the screen is constantly updated with the latest planetary positions. Minute by minute the Ascendant is changing and one can't help wondering about the charts of those born under these configurations. The chart shown has the Moon in Taurus conjunct Uranus and the North Node right near the Descendant. The Moon and Uranus are squared by Saturn at the Midheaven and opposed by Venus, Sun and Mercury in Scorpio on the Descendant. Quite a configuration.

The chart is configured for Jakarta and given the size of its population there's doubtless someone being born within a few minutes of the configuration shown. From the perspective of mundane affairs, it can be seen that Jupiter is still moving backwards through Pisces but not for much longer. On November 24th, it will station and then move forward again and back into Aries, reaching that sign very close to the solstice on December 21st. Jupiter will roar through Aries and reach Taurus on May 17th 2023 and not return to Aries till its next cycle. So the first five months of 2023 should see some rapid expansion of food supply problems. As Jupiter enters Aries it will be opposite the granary body of Ceres which gives some idea of what might be in store for humanity.

The chart drawn up for the moment of the Sun's entry into Capricorn, the Solstice, is quite revealing. It shows a very sharp T-square formed by the Jupiter-Ceres opposition and the Sun at right angles to both. All three bodies are in the first degrees of their cardinal signs, quite a powerful configuration and one that promises action. See Figure 2.

We'll see how things pan out in 2023. It should get off to an interesting start.

Annular Eclipse of June 21st 2020

The path of the annular eclipse on the summer solstice of June 21st 2020 passes over some sensitive areas as can be seen in Figure 1.

Figure 1: source

It passes over Yemen, close to the Straits of Hormuz, near the disputed border area between India and China and on to Taiwan. I've drawn up a chart for Taipei which is interesting. See Figure 2.

Figure 2

Scorpio is rising and the ruler, Mars, is in aspect to the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction, to Uranus and to the fixed stars of Antares and Aldebaran. The conjunction itself is in quincunx to Saturn with both in aspect to the fixed star Regulus. The placement of Mars in Pisces and its proximity to Neptune an element of either deliberate deception or simple confusion to any events that might be precipitated. The involvement of Uranus suggests surprise and a sudden, unexpected turn of events. In the case of Taiwan, Uranus is near the seventh house cusp, suggestive of the involvement of an enemy.

Meanwhile, here in Jakarta, the conjunction of the Sun and Moon (there is no eclipse visible in Jakarta) occurs around 1:41pm and is shown in Figure 3. The very first degree of Scorpio is rising and Jupiter and Pluto are conjunct the IC.

Figure 3

It will be interesting to see what areas, if any, become more active in the days following this eclipse. I'll return to this post in the near future and make note of any events that seem related to the eclipse.

Autumn Equinox in Brisbane

The above chart shows the configuration of planets at the time of the 2017 Autumn Equinox in Brisbane, corresponding to the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Since the Northern Hemisphere is the dominant one, the chart marks the official start of the astrological year. Below is the same chart with annotations.

The almost exact ☽/♄ conjunction suggests considerable control and constraints ♄ will be imposed on the public ☽ by governments and their leaders ☉ especially since the two luminaries are in a square aspect ☉ □ ☽. The trine from ♅ to ☽/♄ suggests some help in resisting this control will come from sources independent of governments like Wikileaks. The T-square in cardinal signs between ♃ and ♅ and ♇ is potentially dangerous throughout the year if other transits cross or aspect the three sensitive points. Where ☽/♄ on an angle, the oppression felt by the public should be more acute. In Caracas, Venezuala, the conjunction is at the MC with ☉ on the Ascendant.

In Beijing and Jakarta, the conjunction is near to but not exactly on the IC with ☉ on the Descendant.
